Back from our cruise and missing it.

Well, I finally found the time and motivation to work on our blog. Not much happening or has happened. We moved into our home in February. It's in Orem, just east and a bit south of where our condo is. We're slowly adjusting with the whole home owner thing. We moved into a great neighborhood and a terrific ward. The only exciting thing that has happened to us is the cruise.

Here's a semi-summary of our week of sun:

Tom and I got back from our cruise with our friends, John and Reenie, a few weeks ago. We took the Eastern Caribbean Cruise with Princess. Our ship, the Caribbean Princess, carried 3000 passengers and 1200 crew members. Most of the crew members were from Europe, Australia, and the Philippines. The captain had a very sexy British accent. It was always a pleasure for me to listen to him on the PA. We had 4 days at sea and 3 days in port. We stopped in St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and the Princess Cays. The days at sea were wonderful!!! The food was yummy too.

St. Maarten - We were on the Dutch side of the island. We, the Jobes and us, tried a pirate excursion. It was a 72 foot yacht that was fashioned into a pirate ship with black square sails. We sailed along the coast to a lagoon, where we laid anchor, and had lunch--yummy BBQ ribs and chicken. The lagoon was about 15 feet deep and you could see the bottom as clear as day. We swam and ate, and swam and ate some more. Tom and John went snorkeling, while us girls lounged in the water and jumped off the ship. We had great weather. Captain Rob told us it was because of the hurricane sucking all the clouds/moisture from the air. Tom and I didn't do much shopping. There were so many jewelry stores. You could throw a rock and hit a jewelry store.

St. Thomas - Tom and I took a 20 minute cab ride to the Red Rock area of St. Thomas. What a beautiful island! The locals are very friendly. There wasn't a rain cloud in the sky. We went Scuba Diving with a Padi shop off of the Great St. James and Little St. James islands. The reefs there are amazing. We saw a huge green Moray Eel, lots of lobster, lots of orange and yellow cleaner fish, and beautiful coral (some red, yellow, green, baby blue, hot pink corals). The sea wasn't too bad. The waves were about 4-5 feet tall. It was a bit choppy on the boat (thank goodness for my patch!), but underneath it was calm. The second dive site there was a bit of a surge. Who knew you could get seasick under water. I found out that you can. I was nauseous through the whole dive. It was still fun.

Princess Cays - It's just an island that Princess Cruises owns. It's a beach resort and their money-maker. Tom and I went snorkeling in one of the lagoons. That was fun. We saw tons of different fish and only had to swim 10-100 yards from shore.

It was a REAL vacation/honeymoon for us. We didn't even have to worry about making our bed. =P Tom's favorite part was the chocolate we got each night on our pillows. It was quite relaxing and no-stress--which is what we wanted.

You're probably wondering what happened to the boys while we were enjoying the sun and water. My mom was kind enough to stay for the week and watch with boys. She enjoyed it. She rarely gets to see them. This was a wonderful opportunity for her to spend time with her grand-babies.

That, my friends, is the highlight of our year so far. Sorry there aren't any pictures right now. I need to find that camera and get the pics developed. I'll get them up eventually...
